ABOUT THE DANCE CLASSES – Anyone between the ages of 7 to 13 can participate in the classes.
All students should be in class on time. Please, arrive to class at least 5 minutes early before scheduled class time for all classes.

No parents are allowed to disrupt the class.
All dancers should wait inside the facility when waiting to be picked up.
OBSERVATION:
Parents or siblings are not allowed in the dance teaching area during class time; We enforce this rule because we don’t want noise or distraction for the children "dancers" when they are learning. It is our belief that students are more comfortable without the distraction of observers, thus creating an atmosphere most favorable for learning. In fairness to all and for the benefit and safety of your child, visitors will observe ONLY with the approval on dates schedule by the instructor. Adults remaining in waiting areas (if available) MUST be responsible for the children in their care who are not in the dance class. Please do not leave children/siblings in your care run around or disrupt others who may be using the facility.
SAFETY:
Safety for your child is of our utmost concern. All young dancers must be escorted to and from the dance room area. Please do not leave any children, that are not taking the kids children dance classes, unattended in the facilities. It is the parent’s responsibility to be prompt when picking up dancers right after the 55 minutes class. If a health condition exist which will prevent full participation, please notify Step N Dance Salsabor Tropical in writing or by e-mail as soon as possible. No child will be allowed to leave the dance room facilities with anyone other than a parent unless with written notice from parent.
COMMUNICATION WITH INSTRUCTOR:
Please remember that time is limited in between classes and it is very important that we start classes on time. Therefore, if you need to speak to an instructor, you have a couple of options. The easiest way is to e-mail or text message the instructor. You may also leave the instructor a note with the front office staff and the instructor will e-mail, text message you, or call you back. BENEFITS OUT OF PERFORMANCES AND SHOWS: (This would be for later once the kids are already social dancing)
First thing first, We concentrate on teaching the children how to social dance before anything.
Things you need to know about Performances and shows.
Performances and shows are an extenuation of the benefits derived from dance training.
Students learn discipline, cooperation, stage direction, and terminology.
Stage presence helps children to overcome shyness and develop their individual personalities.
It will be important for your child to attend their classes regularly in order to learn performance and show dances. If excessive absenteeism prevents the child from learning the dance, he/she will not be allowed to perform with their class.
Once your child learns the fundamentals of social partner dancing and moves on to a more intermediate/advance level than he/she will start to learn more moves and routines that will be for performances.
COSTUME FEES FOR PERFORMANCES AND SHOWS:
Eventually your child will need a dance costume, once he/she is ready to be in a performance. A costume or costumes will be your responsibility to purchase or to be made. The fee for costumes is not included and it is seperate from the registration or tuition fee. Costumes Payment must be in full. Proper undergarments are required. No Refunds for any costumes fees for any reason. No costume will be given out unless paid in full. NO REFUNDS for registration fees, tuition, or costumes, etc. NO REFUNDS will be issued due to withdrawing from classes.

Our curriculum is designed to be both educational and exhilarating, ensuring that every student feels challenged and celebrated. We focus on building not just great dancers, but also confident and well-rounded individuals.
What kids dance classes we teach?
Beyond our core offerings, we frequently introduce new classes to keep things fresh and exciting! Check our current schedule for the latest additions, which may include styles like salsa, bachata, Cha-Cha, or even specialized workshops. We’re committed to keeping our community on their toes, so there’s always an opportunity to learn something new.
What to Bring to Dance Room Floor?
To ensure your child has a comfortable and successful class, here’s what to bring:
Comfortable Clothing: We recommend wearing clothes that allow for a full range of motion. wear lightweight, breathable, and flexible clothing like athletic leggings or comfortable pants with a fitted, moisture-wicking top such as a tank top. Avoid anything too baggy that might restrict movement or make it difficult for instructors to see a dancer’s form.
A Reusable Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is key! Please bring a water bottle to every class.
Appropriate Footwear: Please wear comfortable sneakers or flat, flexible shoes with clean non sticky soles are appropriate. For more advanced classes or regular dancing, consider investing in proper kids' Latin dance shoes, which are typically lightweight, flexible, and may have a smooth suede or leather sole to allow for easy turns and pivots. Ensure any shoes are well-fitting and not loose to prevent tripping or blisters.. If you’re unsure about the footwear for a specific class, just ask!

The Benefits of Dance for Your Child
Dancing offers a fantastic array of benefits for children. Above all, fostering growth both physically and socially:
Physical Development: Watch your child’s flexibility, strength, and stamina soar! The dynamic movements of salsa naturally improve muscle tone, posture, balance, and coordination. As an aerobic exercise, it also significantly boosts overall cardiovascular health.
Social & Emotional Growth: Beyond the physical, dance is a wonderful tool for building character. Kids will enhance their social and communication skills, learn the value of teamwork, develop a stronger sense of trust and cooperation, and easily make new friends in a supportive and exciting environment.
In each Salsa class for children, they'll learn elements and components that make the steps and routines easy to follow and super fun. We focus on key areas of development through engaging activities.
