Salsa LA style breaking on 1 and 5:

Both of these figures show the man’s basic salsa step breaking on 1 and 5.

The man starts with his left foot and the woman follows and starts with her right foot. so in these figures when the man is moving the left foot the woman is moving the right foot and vice versa.

Start the basic step by bringing feet together.

On beat #1 the man breaks forward with his left foot

On beat #2 the man right foot stays behind in place.

On beat #3 the man left foot come together to his right foot.

On beat #4 pause

On beat #5 the man breaks back on his right foot.

On beat #6 the man left foot stays in front in place.
